Cabin Fever Setting In?

Fishing Reports

CJ Strike: Trout fishing continues to be solid. Good reports for bank anglers along Black Sands and near the dam. Trolling has been the most effective method. Give a Salmo a try...80' behind the boat at 1.5MPH. Reports for bass have been...well, depressing. But that will change soon. Crappie and perch fishing has been fairly tough it seems but the reward is impressive! Big crappie! Folks are catching bunches of smaller trout through the ice over near Cottonwood. Punch a new hole through an old hole and get after it.

Boise River: Fishing the moving baits for trout has slowed down a bit. It's been a roe, shrimp and worm game. If you're going to fling a fly, small nymphs and midges!

Brownlee: No report.

Swan Falls - Above the Dam: Some sluggish bass up there right now!

Swan Falls - Below the Dam: Good friend took his father and caught 3 sturgeon using octopus! The same piece...this stuff is durable.

Wilson Springs: Lots of trout being caught...powerbait, worms and HOOKUP BAITS has several that I know of now.

Owyhee River: Fishing well! The fly guys have had a couple of great days as it warmed up a bit. I'm still thinking jig and shrimp under a float in some of the deeper, slow moving stretches. I would definitely give the Hookup Baits a try here. The 1/16oz Black Gold would be my personal choice.

Cascade Reservoir Perch/ICE: Best advice I can give is get on Facebook and get involved on the local ice fishing pages. Valley Bait and Tackle does a Facebook live report regularly - full of great info. Fishing has remained decent and some beautiful perch are being caught. Slush conditions change daily - Tackle Tom's is another great resource to consider as you plan your trip to Cascade.

Horsethief Reservoir/ICE: Same report as last week! Steady action is being reported. Worm and marshmallow are always a decent bet on stocked fish.

Duck valley/ICE: Definitely worth the drive! Fishing remains very consistent. Get a few tip ups working along with a jigging rod or two. Powerbait!

Lucky Peak Reservoir: Kokanee are being caught and that is exciting! I am still hearing that Spring Shores is the ramp to launch from. Start your troll route closer to the banks where the sunlight has had a chance to work its magic.

13 FISHING META RODS

Made to be different. Pro Tour Angler Gerald Swindle never put much value in not shaking things up. His mental veracity and incredibly positive outlook give him a pioneering perspective. This is the persona prescribed to the Meta series, conceived between the GMAN and 13 Fishing. We’ve measured it, no one in the sport swings harder. That’s why these blanks are meticulously brutalized by the man himself and built on the next generation of Japanese PVG36T. Personally tuned by GMAN, the Meta series gives each rod seamless transition and stands alone as the best rod series at an attainable value. A steadfast principle for Mr. Swindle, you shouldn’t have to survive on beans and rice in order to afford good gear.
