Fishing Reports
CJ Strike: Trout fishing seems to have slowed just a bit but trollers putting in a good days work are leaving with decent fish. Flickr Shads, Salmos and other small crankbaits have been doing the work. Bring some inline trolling weights with ya so you can experiment with different depths. Decent reports for bank anglers along Black Sands and near the dam for trout though seems a bit slower than last week. With temps looking a little better this week - maybe that changes. Crappie are being caught but like the trout, be ready to put a good days work...I say work but come on! It's fishing! Sturgeon fishing has been steady.
Boise River: Still hearing that folks are struggling with the smaller jerkbaits and spinners BUT...one bait has been killing it and we're already selling out of them...HOOKUP BAITS have been fire!!
Brownlee: No report - expect that to change soon! Looking through my notes from the last several years and I get excited for those first 42 Degree water temps...
Swan Falls - Above the Dam: No report.
Swan Falls - Below the Dam: Reports of a few cats and sturgeon up near the dam. Water clarity has been changing the further downstream you get. Worth keeping your eyes on as the really cold AND murky water can make things tricky at best.
Wilson Springs: Report from 2 Idaho Rod and Reel ambassadors from Wilson on Saturday: "Caught 32 today on the Hookups and Oliver caught 19 on the Hookups." 4# test, couple of HUB's (Hookup Baits) and get fishing.
Owyhee River: No report.
Cascade Reservoir Perch/ICE: Good reports this week. With the weather warming, stay in contact with the shops in Cascade or the Facebook pages to see what the slush is up to. Good buddy SLAYED fish on a small perch jigging rap. I think I have 2 left in the shop. More hopefully on their way.
Horsethief Reservoir/ICE: Same report as last week! Steady action is being reported. Worm and marshmallow are always a decent bet on stocked fish.
Duck valley/ICE: Definitely worth the drive! Fishing remains very consistent. Get a few tip ups working along with a jigging rod or two. Powerbait!
Lucky Peak Reservoir: Lots of that frozen water crap :)
Arrowrock Reservoir: Same as Lucky Peak - water is mostly hard...come on sun!
