Last Time the Market Was This Expensive, Investors Waited 14 Years to Break Even

In 1999, the S&P 500 peaked. Then it took 14 years to gradually recover by 2013.

Today? Goldman Sachs sounds crazy forecasting 3% returns for 2024 to 2034.

But we’re currently seeing the highest price for the S&P 500 compared to earnings since the dot-com boom.

So, maybe that’s why they’re not alone; Vanguard projects about 5%.

In fact, now just about everything seems priced near all time highs. Equities, gold, crypto, etc.

But billionaires have long diversified a slice of their portfolios with one asset class that is poised to rebound.

It’s post war and contemporary art.

Sounds crazy, but over 70,000 investors have followed suit since 2019—with Masterworks.

You can invest in shares of artworks featuring Banksy, Basquiat, Picasso, and more.

24 exits later, results speak for themselves: net annualized returns like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.*

Fishing Reports

CJ Strike: Great reports this past week from CJ for crappie, perch and trout. Bass fishing has been decent - but not predictable. Trolling has been especially effective for trout fishing. Great reports from guys using Kokabow dodgers and bugs. Flicker Shads and Shad Raps are ALWAYS good options and you never know what you are going to catch with them!! Reports are that the trout are in the top 15’ of the water column, crappie and perch are in 25-35’. I fished here on Saturday and can confirm that those depths are accurate. We did not target any crappie but caught several perch in 30’ and a few trout that we livescoped in that top part of the water column. We caught perch on blade baits, Northland Tackle Minnows and Z Man baits - most using Cipher Tungsten heads - that hook is the deal! We just don’t miss fish with them. For the bass, we were able to get a few good ones to eat 4” Z Man Scented Jerk Shadz, Damiki Vault blade baits and Rapala Crush City Mooch Minnows. The bass we found were in 25-35’ - sluggish and WHITE!! But we did talk a few over 3 pounds into eating!

Boise River: Slower reports this week…when the water starts to get as cold as it is, these fish mellow out a bit. They also move deeper for most of the day and look for areas that they don’t have to work so hard - so not a ton of current. Warmer parts of the day, especially on sunny days, you might find a few fish hunting a bit more in shallower areas close to their winter haunts. Fish deeper, slower and be patient. You might throw 2-3 different baits in the same spot before a fish decides to eat. I’d also recommend downsizing and do what you gotta do to keep baits near the bottom. Don’t discount the simple soft bead under a float or a small crappie jig. Northland Tackle makes some excellent small baits perfect for this time of the year on the Boise.

Brownlee: Current water level is 2064, 5’ down from last week. That’s a pretty decent change in fish land…and reports reflected the change as it sounds like the bite got a little tough last week. For bass, look for fish in 35’ and I’m staying with minnow baits on Cipher Heads (Jerk Shadz, Keitechs, Z Too’s, Mooch Minnows…) and Damiki Vault Blade baits with some gold in them. Lots of questions last week about how to fish blades…keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook this week as Cody Murray shot a video for us on that exact topic. Don’t discount the drop shot - fish it slower and drag it back to the boat without much action. My reports for crappie are from the bass guys seeing schools. There are fish as shallow as 20-25’ and as deep as 50-60’! I have to believe, if you were to target the shallower schools, you could get into these fish with 2.8 Keitechs, 3” Easy Shiners and Northland Tackle Minnows.

Snake River: Sounds like fishing has slowed down for most on the river - but still fish to be caught. Find deeper areas with little current and lets drag a tube and a Keitech and I might spend some time working a weighted jerkbait as well. Put a lead suspendot in front of and behind the front hooks and see what happens! You’ll be fishing around floating grass at some point and that jerkbait is going to foul up - just work with it and keep going!

Wilson Springs: No Report.

Lake Lowell: No Report.

Cascade Reservoir: We’re on ice and its COLD! Sounds like the North end is the best area for snowmobiling. Sounds like roughly 4” everywhere else. Jeff with Freedom Outdoors reporting that fishing is excellent for both shallow and deep fish. He is recommending Slab Raps, maggots and wax worms. Stop by the shops up north to get yourself prepared appropriately! Baits, worms, rod/reels and snacks! Go have some fun!

Horsethief Reservoir: We are on ice. Haven’t heard much about the quality of the fishing however. If anyone has been, love to hear from ya!!

Owyhee Reservoir: No report.

Owyhee River: No report.

Duck valley: CAN BUY PERMITS ONLINE!!!

No Report.

Lucky Peak Reservoir: From Alan with Kokabow Fishing Tackle - Applies to Lucky Peak, Arrowrock and Anderson…

“All 3 are fishing really well right now. We limited on Kokes on Arrowrock Wednesday. A friend of mine limited on Kokes at Lucky Peak and another friend picked up 25 on Saturday at Anderson. All the fish were caught near the surface. The water level at Arrowrock is scheduled to drop starting this week. Water level in Lucky Peak will increase. This usually plays tricks with the fish!! Get em while you can!!” In other words, go now!!

Arrowrock Reservoir: See LP Report

Anderson Ranch Reservoir: See LP Report

Local Ponds: No Reports from any ponds this week.
